ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for an experienced Professional Delivery Driver/Warehouse Support to join our team in our Sudbury Operation.  Reporting to the Operations Manager this position will be responsible for:

• Acceptance of all package and bulk lubricant shipments against order records for accuracy
• Responsible for leading the inventory control and management of package and bulk lubricants including turn ration, physical counts and reconciliation
• Support the optimization of logistics associated with inventory, shipments, freight, to maximize working capital
• Preparation of outgoing deliveries including generating invoices, loading and sorting of shipments
• Key interface to customers, suppliers, and other operating centers for product movement
• Adherence to all material handling and product integrity guidelines as well as all Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized warehouse
• Ensuring the safe delivery of bulk product to our client’s fleet, heavy equipment, generators, or bulk tanks within a designated area

ABOUT YOU: The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a shipper/receiver, purchasing or logistics role
• Minimum 2-year driving experience with a valid DZ license
• Physical strength required for manual material handling
• Knowledge of safe material handling procedures and techniques
• Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklift and pallet jacks
• Knowledge of lubricants is an asset

More about the role:
We are currently hiring for a full-time DZ driver to carry out deliveries locally, into the GTA, and Burlington area, as well as act as contingency to carry out runs to our US customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a truck, transporting goods and materials over land. Our team travel between retail, distributions centers, manufacturing plants and in some cases, growers. Hours of operations for drivers are standardly during daytime hours, however, some evenings and Saturdays may be required on an as-needed basis. This role is important to Floral Express as it directly supports the logistical operations.

Physical/Mental Demands
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time
· Ability to handle stress, as this role can at times be highly stressful
· Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
Notifies Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route.
Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
Positions containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.

I. Job Summary
Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Operates vehicle in accordance with all local and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
Notifies Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route.
Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
Positions containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory duties.

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Education: None required.
Experience: Must be able to operate manual transmission trucks.
Box truck, gravel truck experience, waste experience preferred.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Commercial Drivers License Class 3 or higher.
The CDL is a requirement, therefore, an applicant must be 18 years of age.
Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
Acceptable driving record required.
