Royal Building Supplies in North York is seeking a Boom Truck Driver/Operator. Previous experience in a similar position and knowledge of building supplies would be an asset. Candidates will have well developed communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You will also be a team player, able to operate effectively and safely in a fast paced, multi-task-oriented environment. A clean driver’s abstract is required for this physically demanding outdoor position.
JOB DUTIES
· Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
· Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind
· Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs
· Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
· Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company
· Maintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements such as daily log books, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes
· Safely operate boom-cranes and other warehouse equipment as required
· Follow safety COVID_19 protocols
· Follow company policies and procedures
· Other duties as assigned

· Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures
· Recognizes and understands product numbers and alpha/numeric codes
· Working knowledge of Ministry of Transportation rules and regulations and Ministry of Labour
· Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills
· Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 80 lbs)
· Valid driver’s license (AZ or DZ as required) and good driving record
Must be physically fit, and have safety footwear in good condition. 0-8 ton Crane certification, Working at Heights certificate, Worker Awareness certificate, GHS-WHMIS certificate. (willing to train)
